This is a great opportunity to immigrate to
Canada in a relatively short period of time (often within a few months
versus two years or more through the normal immigration process). If
you wish to immigrate to one of Canada's provinces as a Provincial
Nominee, the province will consider your application based on their
immigration needs and your genuine intention to settle there.
As a prospective provincial nominee
applicant you must:
- Complete the provincial nomination process
- Apply to the province to be nominate for
immigration
When you are nominate by a province you
have to make a separate application to Citizenship and Immigration
Canada (CIC) for permanent residence under Canadian immigration
regulations.
Provincial Nominee immigrants are not
assessed on the six selection factors of the Federal Immigration
Program.
Not all Provincial Nominee Programs are the
same. This is because each province establishes its own criteria.
Depending on the province in which you wish to reside, you may or may
not need a job offer from an employer in advance.
Currently, the following provinces offer
special ‘fast-track’ programs for skilled immigrants:
- Alberta
- British Columbia
- Manitoba
- New Brunswick
- Newfoundland and Labrador
- Nova Scotia
- Prince Edward Island
- Saskatchewan
- Yukon
